Startrails above Parc le Breos burial chamber, Gower
The stars rotate around the north star above Parc Cwm long cairn / Parc le Breos burial chamber. This is an early Neolithic cromlech built around 5850 BP and is one of the Severn-Cotswold type of megalithic chambered tomb.
Presumably the chamber's central passageway was once exactly with the North Star when first constructed 7,000 years ago. The location of the North Star in the sky changes over thousands of years due to the wobble of the earth's axis.
