Porthgain, a Scheduled Ancient Monument between St David’s and Strumble Head, whose name means fair or beautiful port.
It has been a busy port since 1850, initially exporting slate, later also bricks (large brick hoppers still dominate the harbour) and crushed roadstone.
The print shows the Harbourmaster’s Office.
